Imagine that you are a ninety-six-year-old great-grandmother. You grew up with black and white TV, silent films and penny candy.

Yes, you could really buy something for one cent. Back in those days you handed the clerk your coin in exchange for your purchase.

In fact, all of your financial transactions took place by handing over a crisp George Washington or Alexander Hamilton along with some shiny coins.

By the time you were married at the young age of eighteen, you paid your utility bills by sending checks in the mail.

And then as you approached thirty years of age, you got your very first credit card, in your husband’s name, of course.

Eventually, you were allowed a credit card in your own name and you even dropped the Mrs.

What progress!

For the next five decades, you paid by everything by check, cash or credit card. It was simple and easy to comprehend.

And then a few years ago the financial world shifted and here you are trying to understand crypto coins, Venmo and Apple Pay. Let alone how to answer your cell phone or find Netflix on your TV.
